---POV: Curta---

Curta looked up at the early morning sky. She was on her way to work today. Her job, well, that was to take care of the Teagartha Ean. It was a rewarding job. The birds enjoyed having her around. They always like to nestle up close to her. Curta enjoyed being with them as well.

She lived on the ridge right below where the creatures roosted. They liked to be high up in the mountains, away from prying eyes and creatures that might try to take their young.

Today was an important day for Curta. Her first Teagartha egg was about to hatch. It had already started to wobble the night before.

---POV: Curta---

Midday

The sun had established itself high above them in the middle of the sky. Curta had been sitting with a female Teagartha since dawn, waiting for the egg to hatch. It had continued to rattle and squeak throughout the morning, but a few moments ago it had gone quiet. She had scrambled to the nest at that point, checking the egg to make sure it hadn't broken.

It hadn't.

Then, a small crack appeared across the side of the egg's shell. A small squeak followed shortly after. Curta held the egg as it wobbled. She had to stretch her woody arms in order to hold the entirety of the Teagartha's offspring. Small cracks continued to spread around the circumference of the shell, a small beak pushing through the apertures.

The top of the shell popped off, the head of a small chick showing itself. Curta wiped the slime from the egg off of the newborn's head, giving this to the chicks mother.

"Dia duit, ceann beag," whispered Curta, introducing the newborn to the world. She continued to carefully remove the yolk remnants from the chick's downy feathers. Fluffing them up allowing them to dry out. This was extremely important as the chick could die from being chilled by the liquid of the egg whites.

---POV: Curta---

4 weeks later

Curta walked around her home, the trees growing to encase where she lived. The City Seeds had been brought to the mountain peaks, creating Ar Dtus Chathair (First City). Her home was on the outskirts of the new capital, and for good reason. She was one of the caretakers of the Teagartha Ean. In fact, only a month ago, one of the eggs hatched. The small chick was following Curta everywhere she went.

Curta had named the chick Gorm, for the blue stripe that ran across the top of its head. Like all of the creatures developed by the Adhmad, the Teagartha Ean matured quickly. Their food intake during this time was exceptionally phenomenal.

Gorm, only being a month old, had already grown to be the same height as Curta herself, who was 5'10". The bird had also lost all of his downy feathers and was now clad in the hard feathers of his parents. The blue stripe that ran across the top of his head had remained and grew to reach the middle of his back. It was a rare mutation among the creatures. Curta was very proud of Gorm, and very thankful for being the one able to raise him.

Today Gorm would begin his flight training. Unlike natural birds that learn how to fly from their parents, the Teagartha need the help of the Aer. Due to their size, the birds were unable to truly fly like a normal avian. They needed to feel the use of magic while in flight. Through this they would be able to learn how to bend the ambient magic around themselves allowing them to fly. This was also what allowed them to eventually be able to carry their carriers.

---POV: Curta---

Curta, with Gorm following close behind, made her way to the Buaic Cothrom, the Flat Peak. This was a naturally formed peak that had flattened out. It was also right next to the roosting peaks of the Teagartha Ean. The flat expanse was connected to the roosting peaks by long, winding, living bridges. They grown throughout the Dryad's new mountain home after the City Seeds had been recovered, grown and cared for by the Sprucen.

Making their way to the peak, Curta caught sight of the mage that they were going to meet with. Thankfully, it was one of the better ones. Gueran looked out into the sharp cliffs between peaks. Grom, in response to the new face, hid himself behind Curta, though his bulky mass did nothing to truly aid him in this endeavor. Then, Grom inadvertently revealed himself with an inadvertent squawk.

Curta urged the bird to follow her onto the training area, introducing him to Gueran. After a strange greeting, Gueran had Grom set himself up in the middle of the area, his wings outstretched. Then, without delay, he began to use his magic to form a current of air to flow under and over the bird's wings. This continued on for several hours. Then each following day there would be a little bit more force put into the winds.

This continued for another month, until, miraculously, Grom flew on his own, manipulating the air around his wings.

Now, they had to wait until he was fully grown to finish his training.

---POV: Curta---

2 months later

Grom had grown large enough to start his carrier training. It worked much the same as his original flight training. Once again, they were working with Gueran. Though, his role in this series of sessions was much more subdued.

The goal was to strengthen Grom's own abilities to carry a Teagartha carrier. Gueran was only there in case something bad happened and Grom needed some support.

The training went smoothly though, Gueran stepping in only during the early sessions. After a month of windy days on the Buaic Cothrom, Grom was finallly able to carry the carrier up and down from the Farthach Spas.

Now, he would continue this work, and maybe he would be used by some of the higher ups as a personal transport. Of course, Curta would see him all the time, especially when he came back to the roosting peaks after a day of hard work.
