Overall the light elven shield handles like an ordinary medieval shield, it has just been enhanced to be effective against modern weaponry as opposed to primitive arrows. The shield is breakable under sustained damage and once the barrier that surrounds the shield breaks it is unable to stop any more damage until it's recharged. -Heavy throwable. The shield can be thrown or even launched in combination with the light elven offense armor. Landing a hit can briefly cause the target to get stunned or at least cause them to flinch for a split second.Weaknesses-Mobility, the shield decreases the ability to move around in jerky patterns, making dodging considerably harder. On top of that the shield makes it harder to run decently, especially when raised.-Deadweight, The shield takes up an arm. Wich can become a problem during adventuring when one needs to reach for ledges and such.-Arcane/Energy deficiency. The shield and especially it's enchantment were designed to block out the modernized meelee and bullets of the orcs. The orcs never used magic or energy weaponry therefore magic or laser based attacks have a greater chance of destroying the shield's usability.DescriptionThroughout the ages, the shields have defended the elves against the many incoming projectiles that the orcs launched their way. Similar to their armor the shields have evolved alongside all the other weaponry, becoming a brutally effective defensive purpose that was standard issue to all light elven frontline combatants. |
