A dark room, projector, big piece of white paper and low video/audio quality. That was all a high ranking empirium representative could see when Kat invited them to view 'something important'. Suddenly the projector jumped on and showed a TL lit convention. The convention was full of fat unhygienic Zodarrin with neckbeards and stupid hats walking through some sort of convention that was stuffed to the brim with furries and scalies, but that wasnt the most disturbing part about this convention and it wasnt the camera/audio quality either nor was it the cringey voice and phrases coming out of the pie hole from the one controlling the camera. It was the fact that this disgusting cringecon had an entire slave market that consisted of alien races ranging from elves to dwarves. But they were the minority of available slaves, the majority of slaves available consisted of varanus from any age, gender or subbreed. There was an auction going on and the man controlling the camera offered a plentifull amount of credits for a young male hatchling that was holding onto it's mother. The camera man wanted the child sold seperately and after a short auction the hatchling was torn away from it's mother and brought to the cameraman who held the child by it's arm with a strong grip.

He began talking to the child about what his new purpose and the consequences of not carrying out his chores and tasks. It all sounded gruesome and extremely disturbing and the fear was very visible in the eyes of the young hatchling. He was dragged to an elevator wich was seemingly the only exit out of the convention. When the elevator doors opened it was revealed that there were some unlikely people inside. 2 People that wore IMM mk2 raider armor and carried heavy assault rifles, 2 that wore charlot armor and carried blunt weapons (it's not like they would need electricity swords anyway) and one was wearing a custom armor and two pistols. The cameraman pushed the young hatchling their way and ran off into the con along with the other sickos only to find out that these forces have blocked out all elevators and were coming into the con with assault rifles, pistols and submachine guns.

The cameraman was now hiding, his fearfull breathing could be heard as he stupidly filmed the whole thing. The juggernaut soldiers first rounded up the prisoners and led them to a single elevators before coming back to execute the slavers and costumers of these slavers. The cameraman was shot by Kat herself and left behind before she picked up the camera and looked into it, wondering if it's on. She turned it around, briefly revealing the cameraman dead on the ground before switching off the camera. The room then lit up revealing Kat standing next to the projector, she looked at the empirium representative and gave him an awkward smile. "So, gentlemen. I have discovered that some people on earth have a certain fascination for the varanus. And my spies that are infiltrating other criminal empires and groups report that there is a high demand for varanus pleasure slaves, specifically hatchlings. And in our constant bashing on slave routes we have come across quite a few of them. Most of them are currently getting treatment on parhichi in our refugee centres. These refugees are currently on their way to new serpentum in our brand new ships. They should arrive very soon."

She clicked a small device and a holo projector opened, showing a list of factions, gangs, planets, governments etc that dealed in or allowed slavery and their last known location. "These are the slave routes that we know of. Though there are undoubtedly more out there, these are the ones nearby our teritory. They have alot of numbers but are no match for an organized military force."

The Varanus representative cringed in her seat,her grin did little to hide the building anger that she carried,few things can anger the reserved Varanus more then seeing young hatchlings barely past their molt-age being isolated from their kin and forced into slavery of such a sick nature.

Not even hatchlings where considered viable for the Ordiakka Caste,this was not just a affront to the empire but to the Varanus and their society.This was a moral matter the Baroness would enjoy resolving she ignored Kat's smile and morbid joyful nature to recompose herself to speak.

"The actions of these Barbikar Zodarrin are unforgivable,as the patrons of the empire we cannot allow such action to stand....However given our military's deployment in preparation for the Helix Campaign thus it will take time to convince one of the Imperators to lend a levy to eliminate these...Perforak..."

The Baroness removed a spherical object from her robes and placed it on the table the object projected the minuscule figure of a Varanus clad in black robes,a mask placed to hide it's face. The Hand of Kumaktole was surprised at this call and even more surprised at the sight of the very same pirate from the Council a few weeks ago. "Yes mistress?" The Baroness explained the situation to the Hand who nodded. "This is a disturbing group.....We cannot wait for action...Not while the Varnuu are endangered...The Shadows of Kumaktole is at your service....We will move to engage while you negotiate with the Imperators mistress."

The Baroness nodded and the Hand bowed. "Thank you...." She said before deactivating the hologram projector. "The Shadows will make their way to these locations....That is if the hand leaves anything left for us to recover."

Kat wanted to smirk at the woman because she knew on forehand that it would work. She knew the shock value of this video would get varanus attention. She nodded at her but beckoned her to stay a bit longer as she inserted another disk into the holo projector that showed more images. "After the raid you have just seen we have gone through the usual procedures of gathering post combat intel. We didnt find anything out of the ordinary except for one thing. And inventory request to supply more Humans, Beast folk and Varanus of ages 'as young as possible'. The request was directed to a large oppresive governmental force that dealed in imprisoned 'civilians' that failed to meet specific quotas."

The holo projector showed a planet, an ice planet to be exact in a system very much out of the way of faction presence. The projector zoomed in on a large sci fi building that apeared to be a warehouse. "Their headquarters are stationed on Cryon-268. As the name suggests it is very cold there and we've known of this planet for a while but have not taken action yet. Our troops are quiped to head into the cold but they are not capable of bringing the slaves back to an extraction point that is out of the range of their anti air defenses. By the time we get the prisoners there they will have died to the cold."

"In short, we lack the ability to perform an organized raid on our own. Their defenses are rather strong and freeing them would only kill them through the weather. Excuse me if what i am about to say about the Varanus is considered insensitive but due to the reptilian nature of your heritage we assumed that the Varanus have developed equipment to protect them against the cold that regular reptiles have a weakness against. In addition we have reason to believe that the working conditions for forced labourers, regardless of the age is unacceptable and is possibly similar to what we've seen on that awfull apple phone. I have a special branch within my ranks for these operations and they're at the ready. I am not requesting an entire branch to aid me in a campaign against this ring because quite frankly, we dont have the men for an all out assault."

"I will not ask who exactly you just contacted but i assume that it was assassins. Not all planets are of the frigid weather. We too will send our saboteurs to disrupt their operation but i have called you here because this calls for co-operation. Can i propose a plan of aproach in wich the Varanus can lend their support without having to send too much men?"

The Baroness still angry started to calm down,her eyes turning from a slitted from to more rounded.She breathed and regained that cold composure the Varanus nobility was known for.With a emotionless grin she turned back to Kat.

"We can provide modified thermal chestplates for the prisoners,it should keep them warm enough to reach the ship...However I do not recommend prolonged exposure to the cold as the physical effects may still take root.I recommend providing a warm meal once they are safely secured."

She then handed the hologram projector to Kat. "As for your plan....Discuss it with the Hand of Kumaktole,his assassins and agents are at your service.As far as I am concerned his Shadows and your pirates should be more then enough to root out this slaver group.I'll discuss with the Viscount and inform him of the operation and to expect influx of freed citizens."

The baroness stood and stretched her wings. "If there isn't anything else Kat-Ka I must depart." Her Zikah guards still stood standing at the ship she came from,their alabaster armour shining brightly in the Parachi sun,their Vanaksite spears reflecting the light dimly into shards of blue.

She nodded at the representative and bowed respectfully when she walked away. Not too soon after she recieved the thermal chest plates and had them loaded onto a mosquito hunter and set artificial sails to Cryon. When she got closer to the planet she contacted the 'hand' that the representative was talking about. She left the holo projector open and when the hand finally did respond he wouldnt find Kat, because she was brushing her teeth in the bathroom nearby. It took only a second before the whole ship shook and Kat stumbled out of the bathroom with the toothbrush stuck in her troath. When a soldier came to warn her the first thing he really had to the is use the heimlich method to keep the queen from suffocating.

After the horrible first impression she took a breath and saw that the hand had responded and rushed to it. "We're now at Cryon. I think they're boarding or at least attacking us because im afraid they recognize our ships... Their fleet is pathetic though so by the time you get here it should be safe." "Kapitan! Raider units report that a demo unit is going for our storage. They want to destroy the thermal plates so there is a rat in our ranks!" Kat's attitude changed immediatly after that trooper came in to tell her about the demo unit. "Oh shit! Rev up our defenses then, i dont want a single hostile in our warehouse, if they get to those vests our mission is over!" She then turned to the hand again and wasnt sure what to say. "On second thought, no. Please get here as fast as you can, this assault needs to go fast. They will start killing slaves if we get too close."

She then darted off to help defend the storage, yelling at the crew to call in reinforcements...

The Hand did not speak,but bowed his head slightly.Then the feed cut off.

"Va-Ra ma krez doth Zodarrin." Muttered the Hand. "No matter....Move and engage."

The Hand's frigate broke off from it's hiding spot behind the Cryon moon,and approached the pirate vessels.Whilst the ship had cloaking abilities it hid only it's presence on radar,it was able to get near enough thanks to the slavers being preoccupied with the pirates.

The frigate then opened fire using it's Higra Rail gun system tearing holes into the hulls of the slaver ships,then the cargo bay doors opened to reveal squads of suited Varanus clad in black robes flying towards the newly created openings.The Frigate then transmitted on all open channels a single repeating phrase.

"Kumaktole Kraz Matra Za-Ti.....Kumaktole Kraz Matra Za-Ti...."

The suited assassins then clambered their way though the gravity-less rooms of the slaver ships,passing the dying and floating corpses pale from the sudden expulsion of oxygen.All they needed to do was to get onto stable ground.

And that they did,the Slavers where confused at first when a new enemy appeared out of nowhere,but panic soon set in as they slowly lost communication with squads across the ship,some where allowed to escape but at great cost all for the purpose of spreading chaos among the enemy ranks,a missing limb here or a laceration there,the Shadows did not care...They had no interest in the cries for mercy the slavers brought,no hesitation to cut,slice and thrust until the slavers lay down their arms in acceptance of their fate....Cold,merciless and pragmatic where all traits that best described the Hand and his Shadows.

The Frigate stopped it's transmission and jammed all signals including that of the pirates,slavers and their own....The Hand did not want any harm to come to the slaves and would not risk any signal coming through that the planet might pick up.He also had little interest in the arguments or suggestions that may come from the pirates,the Hand had read the dossier regarding Kat and found it wanting.

The Hand and his Shadows had cut off any Slaver reinforcements but that was nothing to say to those already within the pirate ships,at least the sudden lack of communications may work to the favour of the pirates he guessed.

After all they had the so called "Home advantage".

Unable to keep the pressure up the slavers were quickly vanquished by the defensive force without being able to cause damage to the transport. Kat picked up her comm deviced and dialed for the crew to start moving to the drop zone, then she contacted the hand and spoke to him. "Whatever it is you did, thank you! The thermal plates are safe and we're descending for the initial assault. My saboteurs will send you their location for a flanking route. My invasion force will be here in 30 minutes, weaken their defenses and this should be a breeze. Move the varanus captives out first, the other races dont exactly have a weakness to cold and are capable of waiting for the escort. We will set up a camp."

A few minutes later she had her crew set up a camp, place heaters and had cooks prepare gluhwein, hot chocolate and other meals to help fend off the cold. They had put up some sort of camp to trap the heat using a few ships. It was defended by many autonomous turrets in true immortal fashion. "Kat reporting. Camp is set up, cooks are fully reved up and the camp is pleasantly warm. We're ready to start recieving the prisoners, how is the defense breach procedure? My invasion force will arrive in 15 minutes."

The Hand was pleased at the quick efficiency of the Drosden,the shadows began moving once they received the flanking route,the slaver outpost was large and had very formidable defenses with several orbital cannons built to tackle corvettes and such.There was too much trouble placed in defending this facility for it to be a mere slave terminus.The Hand suspected there was a much larger force involved,funding the expense of this facility for means the Hand had yet to discover.

They needed a distraction.....To confuse the defenders and create a opening for the Shadows to eliminate the defenses all together.Then the Hand came to a conclusion.

The shadows prepared the captured slaver vessel,using a automated frequency to replay some of the slaver voices on a open comm channel,should the base try to contact the ship.The Hand then addressed the Kaptain. "We will provide a opening and eliminate the defenses,move your forces in once we give the signal."

The Shadows then prepared the ship's autopilot to the coordinates of the defense line and placed the engines at full speed. The shadow agents themselves would follow behind the ship in Tempest Dropships using the ship as a flaming bullet to mask their entry in case the base has radar systems.

Simon was one of the unlucky guards hired on site and even more unlucky to be tasked with patrolling the western wall,the cold wind made his spine shiver and his mustache was frosted with ice flakes,he was bored and cursed with each step he took on the frosted metal floor,he felt the cold through his boots and jacket. "Bloody Jim....Lucky dog gets to stay inside the base...Join the Hades Security....Get to see the galaxy....What a load of bulls...huh" He heard a large banging noise deep in the white mist above him.The base alarm system blared red as the intercom screeched. "Warning.....Aerial impact imminent....All personnel evacuate the western ward." Then he saw it as a bright orange light overwhelmed the sky. "Oh screw me." Was his last phrase.

The crash was like a hundred earthquakes and tore one part of the base apart like wet paper,the base momentarily lost power causing the backup generators to kick in turning the lights from bright white to a emergency red.In the confusion the shadows slipped into the breach,dispatching all that carried a weapon as they systematically narrowed down the location of the security bay.

There was a third force in the base... A vigilante, shapeshifting robot that had the ability to configure itself into an offensive coordination point. Currently though he was in wanderer mode and wreaked havoc on his own at the second entrance around the back. He had simply walked in saying nothing and opened fire once inside so his aproach was closer to a terrorist attack than a raid. However, the drosden raid on the other side of the building has made it much easier on Cole. It didnt take Cole long to reach the other attackers and he scanned the other raiders in confusion before speaking in his usual friendly voice. "Hello! You are hereby percieved as a threat by being in a restricted area confirmed to be owned by slavers wich are meeting my kill on sight criteria. Please identify yourselves or i will be forced to use less preferable matters!"

The drosden juggernauts stared in awe as they witnessed the hulking robot that adressed them. "We are soldiers of the drosden fleet. Hold your fire." The exchange went on for a while until Kat ran past them into battle but she stopped to watch the idle robot and the soldiers that stood in front of it, but the tension was relieved when Cole recognized Kat. "Well i'll be a son of a gu- It's Kat! The immortal sniper that turned her back on her duties years before the fall of the faction that now runs a pirate fleet in a vain attempt to redeem herself for her neglect on Apex-122! Are these your soldiers?" "Yes... And you are...?" "Im Cole! I assembled the ships in fortress! What brings you to Cryon?" He raises his gun and aims it at Kat. "Are you here for bussines then?"

Meanwhile more security arrived while charlot units shielding the slaves walked past them again. "Aha! I see! You are continuing the immortal legacy then? Well allow me to help!" He says as he walks past Kat and goes into sentry mode to mow down incoming security. Kat herself wasnt sure what to say and simply continued with the aid of Cole. "Hey, is this the hand? There is another warrior in here, a big robot who claims to be an AI from the immortals. Steer clear from him because i think he is bugged and he is possibly hostile to the empire. My soldiers will send you his current exact location. We are now in the process of escorting the prisoners to the camp!"

"Noted" The Hand hissed.

His shadows continued their path making sure to cut off reinforcements from engaging the Drosden forces.

Kurask Vorr was one of these shadows as he slid the energized katar deep into the soft flesh of the slaver's chest,with the target slain he then lifted his robes and placed the superheated blade against the right side of his chest below the chestplate,the burning sensation was unbearable...But he like all shadows learned to weather it.He then slowly carved a symbol against his scales,the heated blade cauterized the wound causing a temporary mark of pinkish red formed in a crude rounded symbol representing Kumaktole's sphere of death.One of many carved on the black scaled body of the assassin.

He then spotted a slaver lingering to it's frail mortality and the shadow stood and slowly approached the crawling slaver,the shadow hissed as he pressed his right clawed foot down upon the slaver's back.The sobs of the slaver turned to painful cries as the shadow began to slowly rend his hand through the slaver's hair,the claws tearing into the skin causing thick red blood to ooze out of the thick head of black hair tainting the white claws of the assassin's hand.Then without warning the assassin bit into the neck of the slaver and used both his hands to claw his throat open sending a splatter of red across the metallic floor of the dining hall.

The hand contacted Kat. "What is the status of the extraction?"

The temporary camp was under siege and Kat herself had to pick off slave hunters that were trying to secure their produce. The defense went well and the pirates have yet to lose a single captive. But she was worried that the attackers may have had something in store. Luckily, so did she. "Bad!.... Definetly bad! They have access to reich and nypherian technology! Watch out in there! They're besieging our camp and we can hold them off for now but i think they're hiding somethi-KGGGGT" The audio was cut off after an explosion could be heard in the background. They had some serious equipment nearby and were putting alot of resources in besieging a temp camp. A few minutes later she came back on, on the background loud explosions and mechanical roaring could be heard.

"BE CAREFULL IN THERE! They have very serious weaponry! It's up to par with immortal tech! I've called in my newest units, if you see mechanized predators, do not shoot them. They're part of the fleet. There are massive mecha's called in to deal with the large influx of reinforcement but please. BE. CAREFULL."
