Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 Empty
Invasion#26PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptyFri Feb 10, 2017 10:18 pm

Objective 1:

Artillery rounds whistled through the air, striking dangerously close to the Warthogs' path straight towards the Demonic General. Luther frowned as he drove the chaos. Most of the demons were roughly human sized and mowed down by gunfire easily enough, but he started noticing increasing numbers of tougher Demons with the power to throw some kind of energy. Magic. That did not bode well for the UNSC forces, most of whom were completely unfamiliar with magic, if they didn't already believe the legalization of 'supernaturals' was some kind of government ruse.

The Spartan found some relief when he watched MAC cannon rounds streak down through the sky, slamming into the Demon's dropships with a deafening crash. A number of them went down.

"Well that captain is useful for something," Luther commented as he slammed on the gas, "We're almost in range of the enemy commander," He shouted as they drove within firing range of War. "Green, Smith. With me in combat against the commander. The rest of you, provide fire support and Keep as many of these demons away from us as possible. Allow the Alliance forces through if they offer support!"

The Spartan jumped from his warthog, DMR in hand, and rolled a few feet before jumping back up to his feet and charging towards War, dumping rifle rounds toward the Demon's head. Green and smith followed suit with their shotgun and sniper rifle respectively.

Optional:

The UNSC commander was shocked at the remarkable speed of the Demonic ships. Any other species' ships would have been slow enough for their MAC cannons to reload before they got into combat effective range, and he certainly hadn't expected the battleships to try to ram into his own.

Fortunately, the Strident and Paris Class frigates responded quickly, an equal number of each quickly closed in on the larger Demonic battleships, those that could fired their mac cannons at practically point-blank range and every one that could launched volley after volley of archer missiles. That didn't stop five of the paris-class frigates from going down, though. In the meantime, the Orion Class Carriers went into full reverse and launched their full complement of sabre wings, commanding each them to bombard the Demon Cruisers' tendrils in an attempt to slow down the assault.

Invasion#27PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptyTue Feb 14, 2017 7:25 pm

Objective 2

As soon as the annoyances had been dealt with, The Freelancer fired the drop pods onto the surface. The pods inbuilt computer systems navigated them through the dense fog and as soon as they had cleared it, ensured that they all landed in one piece. The pods slammed down onto the surface, kicking up large amounts of dirt within their craters.

The hatches hissed as air escaped from the inside, and soon blew off with soft explosions. The occupants wasted no time and dashed out from the inside of each pod, revealing themselves to be the giant, rhino-sized mechanised hounds that had previously seen action during the battle against The Starforger. The hounds completely ignored the Vampires and Lycans and charged, with relentless ferocity towards the demonic army. Their sharp metallic claws and teeth, coupled with their well armoured hides and immense strength would guarantee an instant but brutal death for any that came in their way.

Invasion#28PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptyTue Feb 14, 2017 8:12 pm

Objective 1

“Well,” the voices said matter-of-factly, “I no longer wonder what demon blood feels like.”

As Braakk and his 50 seraphim waded through the carnage, he couldn’t help feeling exuberant. There was something about the carnage that breathed life into him, as if the presense of death made that of life even stronger.

Braakk saw the large demon, slicing through the battle. “This looks awesome,” the voices exclaimed, “let’s kill it.”

Braakk and his fifty elite warriors began slaughtering their way toward the demon. As they did so, Braakk commed to his tanks. “Underlings,” he called, “split into three parts. Fifteen of you focus fire on the large clumps of demons. Make me see limbs everywhere. Ten of you, focus on the spellcasters. If these demons feel like using cheap magic, make sure they won’t do it ever again. And the last five of you, pump this huge demon full of ammunition. Tell our hoverbikes to keep you safe. IF I FIND OUT YOU HAVE DAMAGED ANY OF OUR TEMPORARY ALLIES, YOU WILL INSTANTLY BECOME SLAVES!” Braakk closed the comm channel for the time being.

“You, fellow seraphim,” Braakk said to his group over the roar of battle, “avoid the big clumps of demons, the spellcasters, and keep your distance from that large one. Take out any fliers or stragglers that you see. For the mothership!”

Invasion#29PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptyThu Feb 16, 2017 10:02 am

Objective 1

By now Jaya could see War just over the horizon of demonic soldiers, promptly being engaged by UNSC and Seraphim fighters. She had faith in the abilities of her allies, but she couldn't help but worry for their safety. Her father had spoken of his fight with the Horseman of War long ago and it was not an easy ordeal. Now this monster was aided by a full demonic army. Nevertheless Jaya was able to hold with the vanguard easily against the Crusade's attack, Blightslayer giving her a tremendous advantage in combat.

There was a feeling however that this battle was not the main one. Whilst whoever survived here would determine the victor, it seemed more importantly whoever controlled the World Shroom would sway any battle on the planet. If Pestilence corrupted the Shroom the whole world would become twisted and corrupt, giving the Crusade an unbeatable home advantage...

Invasion#30PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptyThu Feb 16, 2017 10:12 am

Objective 1
@DianaYoungblood @Luther-A029 @Braakk @Zephyna Aldaris
War let out a booming laugh as bullets clanged against his metal-like skin. Turning his steed by the reins and spinning his sword, he narrowed his gaze at the incoming soldiers. A singular point with his blade caused the demons around them to converge, blocking their line of fire and attempting to swarm them with claws and bites from all sides. The Horseman was not intent on wasting his own power on such measly infantry.

Meanwhile on the Inquisition front the behemoths had taken hits from the enemy's sudden tactic, but with their attention focused on that it would become difficult to anticipate the appearance of the Riftspawn. Warping into existence inbetween the lines of Inquisition soldiers, they attempted to cause chaos in the ranks of the enemy. Now they would be force to fight within themselves aswell as against the Demonic frontline.

Objective 2
@The Freelancer @KittyYoungblood @RescueScribbles
Hounds, fireballs, and magic dealt with the plagued creatures that tried to swarm the defenders. Soon enough there were few left to keep them busy. However by this time Pestilence was already dangerously close to the World Shroom. His uncaring gaze swerved to survey the enemies around him, curious as to why they fought such a fruitless battle.

"It is over..."

Reaching out his hand, Pestilence went to touch the World Shroom with a glowing green light...

Optional
The ships with tendrils met a hard resistance but with some success. They reveled in each UNSC ship that perished, but soon enough their close quarters assault was torn apart. After the initial victories they became dispersed and helpless, promptly being wiped out after the first wave of assault. This left the heavy Battleships at the very back, their shields raised to maximum in anticipation of the enemy pushing against them.

Kitty's jaw clenched in anger, she was growing annoyed with these plague shit things. Her eyes darted to Pestilence, letting out a loud curse when she saw him reach towards the World Shroom. Reaching into her pocket, she withdrew a small mirror. She knew the spell she was about to do would only buy them a minute, maybe not even that long, but it would buy them something.

She whispered something into the mirror, causing it to glow, before she whipped it in the World Shroom's direction. The second the mirror impacted the Shroom, it shattered and released a mist that skewed everyone's vision. When the mist finally cleared there was not one, but 10 different World Shrooms. Exact mirrored replicas of the World Shroom stood tall, if Pestilence was able to see through the spell then they'd be screwed. But either way, they were already screwed.

Invasion#32PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptySun Feb 19, 2017 12:41 am

Objective 2

The Freelancer made an expression similar to an eyebrow raise behind his mask as his sensors picked up a peculiar form of magic. Slowly, he allowed his ship to descend through the fog and emerged just beneath it, again exposing his ship to everyone on the surface. He saw it immediately: an illusion, perhaps generated by the defenders.

He turned his attention to the World Shroom itself and scanned the terrain. Somehow, the terrain's energy reading seemed to branch out across the entire planet, similar to vessels in a body but different at the same time as the connection wasn't necessarily physical - something that was beyond Freelancer's comprehension.. for now.

He then set his sights and sensors on the leader of this smaller demon army: a figure that held in his hand a green glow. A quick scan revealed that the energy was somehow connected to the creatures that were attacking the World Shroom.. some sort of plague. It was then he realised that the individual planned to spread the exact plague through physical contact, and the illusion was there to prevent him or slow him down. If he was planning to infect the entire planet, World Shroom was the perfect place to do it from. That illusion would only buy them some time... this battle was lost already.

The Freelancer keyed in some commands on the console in front of him and the mechanical hounds that he had released onto the surface suddenly withdrew to a safe distance from the enemy. As soon as they were clear of danger, each one of them sat in an upright position and their bodies shifted and transformed into oval, pod-like objects. The objects then ascended, powered by a blue glow underneath them and flew back to the ship. The Freelancer then engaged his dark matter drives and prepared to leave the planet.

Invasion#33PostSubject: Re: Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia)   Judgement Day (Demon Invasion of Aumia) - Page 2 EmptySun Feb 19, 2017 11:22 am

Objective 2
Pestilence stared for a moment at the illusion before him, and then at those around him. He saved one glance for the caster of this spell, half-impressed at the ability of this mortal. With a smooth turn he faced another shroom, examining it for the same short length of time. This continued until he had surveyed every version with his green glowing eyes. At last his oozing scythe pointed towards a particular shroom; the wrong shroom.

"Pathetic."

Suddenly Pestilence pulled his arm back, launching the scythe in the opposite direction through the air. On it's new course it now collided with the real World Shroom, tearing into it's substance and subsequently shattering the illusions. The earth itself shook tremendously as green sickness spread across it from the center, spawning corrupt tendrils and venomous plants in it's path. Quickly the planet was becoming a deathtrap.

Objective 1
War raised his head as the world shook, letting out what was close enough to a laugh he could manage. Bullets stopped clanging off his armor and the sound of metal ceased to ring across the battlefield as everyone noticed what had happened. Everyone knew what was coming. There was a local silence as each side listened to the approaching corruption, before War made the first move.

"Chase them down!"

The demons roared back into action, planning to chase their enemies on both sides at their heels. If they remained to hold their ground, the coming corruption would swallow them in the earth itself.

Objective 1
The terrible shudder of the earth confirmed Jaya's fears. Not only did the impending quake alert her but also her senses of Aumia becoming sick and twisted to it's core. In the moments of silence her soldiers stood uneasily, only to hear War's cry soon after. Quickly she shouted her own commands.

"Retreat! Call down the transports! Get us out of here!" Her wings spread outwards, propelling her forwards towards the horizon where the ships would come. Behind her soldiers fell to the chasing demons; hellish blades lodged in the backs and skulls in the most dishonorable of deaths.

By the time the ships had landed and began loading everyone one Jaya could only feel regret. She believed they could have driven the demons back, but alas that was not the case. The Nypherians had not come as invited. The Inquisitions tactics had not paid off, and the UNSC could not support them in the ways they needed. Something needed to be done. They needed a bigger show of strength.

All these thoughts raced through her mind as the survivors finally lifted off, narrowly missing the sea of demons swarming beneath them. Now the hellspawn were laughing and cheering in victory, having successfully corrupted this precious land...

"Shit." Kitty cursed as the ground rumbled, she needed to leave. Now. Looking to Dakora Kitty nodded, and with a blink the both of them disappeared. They both reappeared on the battle field, calling the vampires and Lycans together in preparance for mass teleportation. Once they gathered together it appeared to be that the Lycans and Vampires had each lost maybe a fourth of their numbers, the thought made Kitty's stomach twist a little. Kitty didn't dwell on it long, once she had grabbed hold of her magic she teleported them out of there.

Within a few seconds she reappeared again with Dakora, grabbing her sister and Temperance while Dakora grabbed Avalon. Then with a flash they were all gone again.
