Gladiatorial combat is an favorite past-time for the Varanus and it's popularity has spread across the other races of the Imperium,they would pit volunteers,slaves and disgraced legionaries against varied odds to test their skill and honour. Blood would be spilled to entertain the masses while the Imperial Trade Guilds and other corporate entities would profit from selling goods to the masses as they await the next bloody fight.


It has become an industry on it's own as it is the most glorious sport in the Varanus culture almost as old as the race itself.The Imperial Civil Administration created an network of the various arena's scattered throughout the Empire and to locations beyond their borders associated with the Arena-masters of the Serpentum Imperium.

• The Sunken Arena {New Serpentum}
  

One of the largest Arena's if not the largest arena seen in the galaxy,the sunken arena is the center of the Imperium's gladiatorial fights and for those few gladiators who live long enough to see it's marble pillars usually are given the highest praise and should they live long enough receive great material reward.


The Sunken Arena specializes in an variety of challenges,being able to even be sealed and modified for an zero-gravity combat scenario.Many captured beasts collected by the Arena-masters usually end up in the Sunken Arena with the aim to tear the gladiators unlucky enough to be caught between them apart.


The Sunken Arena is known to be both challenging and outright cruel to it's gladiators,pushing their physical limits to ensure the highest quality of fights for the Capital population.

The Farnin Arena is where the most common of gladiatorial fights take place,sponsored by the various private corporations on the planet the arena here is considered to be more commercial when compared to the more traditional arena on New Serpentum.


Farnin Arena specializes in gladiatorial fights featuring prototype military hardware made by Elnre Industries such hardware includes gladiatorial gear issued to the participants and combat drones and mechs they would have to defeat.

Description: a massive ring of seats and deep fortifications built around 120 square acres of uncharted forest, the Arena of Wolves welcomes all combatants, whether it be forced or not, animal or sentient. Built in the forests of the Eastern reaches of Zenea, the arena stands as a monument to the Reich's insatiable urge to see whomever they deem their enemy fall, bringing visitors from all over the galaxy, especially the planets controlled by the Reich.


This arena specializes in animal fighting and falls under the legal authority of the Inquisitorial Reich.
